"Educate intentionally, inspire kindness, and perpetuate kind acts to ignite a ripple of momentum that grows into a Kind Wave changing the world for good, one intentional act at a time."
The KindWave movement starts with the simple truth that acts of kindness are intentional. Every act of kindness requires some level of intentionality and thought, whether it be a split second decision or weeks of planning. When we each intentionally make the choice to do kind acts throughout our days AND invite our communities and strangers to do the same, we have the power to change the world, one act of kindness at a time. Our movement leverages technology, science, Kindess education, habit forming, and our own human nature to promote kind acts with the goal of changing the world.
To accomplish the massive goal of slowly changing the world, our team worked to figure out a way to slowly, but surely, change habits and make them stick. We also decided we would leverage technology to do this. The reward is seeing the far-reaching effects of your kindness, and how that perpetuates, by using a smartphone app to accomplish it. They’re right in our hands anyway. Let’s use them for good.
The free Kind Wave app is intended to be the platform where you take a couple of minutes to plan and log your IAOKs, automatically. Then they are geo-located automatically onto a map. You can share the app with a link or QR code with those you help, and keep track of the sheer numbers of people you’ve helped through your kind acts (and the number of people they’ve helped).
You can become part of a community of like-minded, kind people on the app to share ideas, events, and kindness. The app is a powerful tool to use for doing good in your town, country, and the world.
The concepts were developed during some late-night conversations with our team. The app was borne out of those concepts because they were adamant that, in order to succeed, the method had to be fun, easy and allow for a social community for good. If we all create our tiny atomic habits each day, taking almost no time, we could change society ourselves.
A “heat map” on the app will show you just how far your kind acts have traveled and count the numbers of people you’ve helped. Every person you shared the app with that does IAOKs will also add into your total IAOKs. You will see the geolocated IAOKs travel to different towns and countries. Just think, if you shared your unique QR code or link in the app with someone from a different part of the world, you just started a Kind Wave there.
Eventually, the goal is to see the heat map show yours, and everyone else’s, IAOKs blanketing the entire planet. It might even be a little competitive to see how many kind acts we can do versus others.
We don’t always get to see and quantify just how many people our actions might affect and influence. With the Kind Wave app, we can. And we can meet others doing the same. We can get ideas from everyone else. We can create our own ripples that become waves and watch them spread across the maps.
They will become tidal waves and you will change the world. Just like our late-night chats trying to find a way ourselves, think about how you can spend a few minutes a day to make tiny differences. Hold a door. Share something with a stranger in need. Offer help. Give a smile to someone who could really use it. Carry something heavy for someone older. Give up your seat to another. Always speak with respect and offer thanks.
You will be healthier. We will be healthier. The world will be healthier. Because of your little Kind Wave. Pass it on and be the force for good.
